So this is it, I guess. I’ve broken down and succumbed to the impulse to be truly exhibitionist… Real Time Posturing (or Posting or Something). I’m still trying to figure out how to make the colors change. I’m sure it’s pretty simple, but I seem to be stuck in grey-brown mode for now.

To change the style on your page(s), go to Modify Journal off the LJ home page. There you can pick and apply other canned styles to your pages. Me, I like the grey-brown mode … but that’s not too surprising, huh? ;)

Ok, I am “modifying journal” right and left. HAve it set on refried pages and Leprachaun …but I’m still seeing Grey-n-brown. What am I missing?

Just took a quick poke at modifying my journal style a colors. Looks to me like the Refried Paper style doesn’t look at the color settings. Most likely it’s written with colors hard-coded rather than checking and using the preferences. When I changed to a different style, the colors I chose showed up.
If you really want to get into modifying and styles, it sounds like paid accounts have a lot more options. (The whole S2 style system and all that (that I don’t understand (yet)).)

A-ha. That would explain it. I guess I need to go play with the “Overrides” section. I read the FAQ, but, wow, it gets really technical really quickly. Will go try again. :)
