One of my dear friends tied the knot in Vegas over Thanksgiving… this is her description of her Aunt’s congratulatory card:

Hi Gina,

I had to share this with you, as one of the few I know who can really appreciate it. My Aunt, a Very Well Bred Old Southern Gentlewoman, wrote me a note congratulating me on getting married. It starts with the usual: congrats, happy, etc. etc … “And what an unusual wedding! I hope your parents were too pleased to be critical of the offbeat way you did it!!” Oh, lawd have mercy, I practically fell over laughing. I do love a well-bred passive-aggressive smackdown.
